First cnc exposure early 70’s paper tape!
After 50 + years on and off I still enjoy messing around with this stuff, still learning and building. I have designed and built 15 different cnc machines, 3d printers 2. At this point in my life I’m forgetting more then I’m remembering, So sometimes I need a little help to get back on track. I more than willing to help where I can. Twenty + years ago got back into CNC with the ShopBot system. then after retirement sitll using ShopBot I had a problem with support and replacement cost for the hardware. So I started researching other systems. I had used GRBL on other projects and found it workable. Next GRBLHaL, Inputs and outputs! Looked a number of boards for HaL and landed on BlackBox 32! good board but very touchy electronics. OPTO isolated now that’s what I was looking for!! the ability to run my spindle and laser without a lot of nonsense. Learning a new language at my age ie. fluidcnc seams to be the biggest lift at this time. Looking forward to becoming an Root fan in the future.
