I have a 600 x 400 50W CO2 laser in a blue cabinet. Bought second hand and originally shipped from China. It works great but sooner or later the CO2 tube will die and the replacement will be hundreds of NZ$.

I’ve been looking at some YouTube videos of multistage LED lasers that are on the market and they are really impressive.

Has anyone installed a laser on their RootCNC machines? If so which model and do you recommend it?

I was sure I had seen a video from @sailorpete but I haven’t been able to find it again.

I have an atomstack M50 I am attaching to my root 4 lite. I just started working with it, as I’m new to the CNC world and I am still working on the root 4 lite build. I engraved some wood and some cork, and for now it seems ok, but I can’t speak for the cutting abilities, probably a diode laser will not be as powerful as a CO2 one, so if you need to cut deep and you cut a lot maybe the CO2 is the way to go and replacing the tube can be the best solution…
