I am going to build the Root 4 with 2.5m*1.5m. Did anyone here built a Root 4 with that size and experienced any bending in the x- and y- axis? I was wondering if I need bigger ballscrews like 2010 or something for that length? I hope you guys can answer these two questions. Thx.
I am building a Root 4, 8 feet by 4 feet and am using two 2010 y axis ball screws and one 1610 x axis. I am modifying the Root parts to make them stronger by using two 1.5 inch square steel y axis on each side and two 1.5 square steel x axis. CNC will have two 425 motors on y axis and 425 motors on x and z axis. Using a 110v 2.2kw water cooled router and VFD. Still building so don’t know if my design will have any problems.
I’m starting to build a 2404x1290mm working area Root 4 machine. I’ve used the xls file from the site, so I will use 2 box sections, lenght 2650, for the Y-axis. The box sections will be 3mm thickness for more rigidity. Now I’m looking for the 2 ball screws, 2700mm lenght …
